Plot
Spinning directly out of Spider-Squirrel Volume One comes MILESTONE! While attempting to bring the super-villain responsible for his abduction back to their world to face justice, they find their Earth is gone! Vanished completely from the solar system.
The chess pieces are circling and the deck is stacked against him; someone (or is it someones…?) is playing a dangerous game with him and it begins here!
Cole Morgan may not want to be the most powerful man in the universe but he doesn’t have a choice. What he does next will be the Milestone that saves or destroys the entire world.
Story & Characters
The story of Godquest : Milestone picks up right after Spider-Squirrel Volume One ends and jumps into action fairly quickly. The story moves at a feverish pace, grabs your attention and never leaves it. Some of the horizontal page spreads give you a sense of scale that the creators were trying to go for and it’s a very epic story mounted on a grand canvas. Despite this, it depicts the horrors of war effectively.
The characters are diverse and have a very modern touch to them, despite the era the book is set in. Milestone’s character as a protagonist has a lot of depth, it’s timely and important. His dilemma and confusion is very evident throughout the book. The fact that his conscience speaks to him about something not being right despite ending the greatest war in the modern history of humankind, speaks volumes on how morally strong he is and has all the makings of a classic American hero.

GodQuest : Milestone is a comic mounted on an epic scale. It jumps across generations and genres effortlessly and effectively. It is a must read and a great companion to the Spider Squirrel’s volume one!

Art & Inspiration
The art style is reminiscent of Neal Adam’s work, is not only gorgeous, but very cleanly done. The book is full of action set pieces that are both exciting and exhilarating. The big center page spread in the middle of the comic is grand and just so much fun! Speed lines and sound effects in this book need a special mention because they just elevate the book to next level. They’re innovative, smart and used to a great effect. There's inspiration from a lot of sources, the classic avengers, and famous superhero team-ups. to the famous Hitler's rant from the "Inglorious Bastards".
Final Verdict
GodQuest : Milestone is a comic mounted on an epic scale. It jumps across generations and genres effortlessly and effectively. It is a must read and a great companion to the Spider Squirrel’s volume one!
