Taking cue from post-apocalyptic epics involving space survival, writer Jon McCarthy invites us into this delicately nuanced science fiction tale which balances the age old question of brain versus brawn. With the remaining survivors of Armed Forces personnel and Scientists mapping out the survival of the human race, the 'troops' are put on ice in deep cryo-stasis, allowing time for the remaining scientific minds to figure out a solution to their mass extinction dilemma.

Eventually, protagonist and jarhead Captain Logan Griffin is resuscitated after decades of cryo-sleep, and is planning with the powers that be - to return to earth with an armed team that's been training for this all their lives.

McCarthy is able to intelligently navigate the hostile relationship between Captain Griffin and the squad sergeant whilst providing a mystery around what might be waiting for them on the planet. This creative duality is elevated to cosmic proportions, thanks to Ron Joseph's bold and expressive line art and coloring. With expressive creative talents like McCarthy and Joseph's at work, it begs the question "what is waiting down on earth for Captain Griffin's expedition - salvation or extinction?"
